| UPDATE: DEC. 2011 Just a quick update regarding Angie and her practice. She now has 2 offices in her Bayside location, a husband who helps her run the business, 2 more assistants besides Mara, and 2 children since I was her patient. A friend of mine was having a severe headache for 2 weeks and she went to one of the free clinics where they took x-rays and gave her something for the pain. Then they recommended her to a doctor that specializes in pain management, but his method was to give her several medications. She had been to this doctor a few years ago, and also had gone to him a day or so before she went to the free clinic thinking he could relieve her headache.. He told her she had fibromyalgia on both occasions, and the appointment before her emergency clinic visit he gave her several prescription medications that were very strong. One of the medications was an antidepressant, which she didn't take because she wasn't depressed. When the free clinic recommended she go see this doctor again she had reservations about going back to him, but decided to give him another chance. This time he was rather upset with her for not taking the first medications he gave her, and told her that he was going to change her medications, but that she had to take them ALL for them to help her! The medications ended up being the same medications, just different names). He did NOT do any physical therapy or chiropractic treatments at either appointment. When I found all this out I told her it might be a good idea if she went to see Angie as I felt she was really good (based on my experience). She went there right away and Angie took a look at the x-rays. She told my friend that she had an abnormal curvature of the cervical spine (which the doctor had told her as well). Angie felt around on her neck to find the pain point, asked her a few questions, then told her that her problem was not skeletal, but muscular based on where the pain was originating from. Angie advised my friend that she could relieve her pain with a few treatments, and set her up with five apponitments (would have been eight, but they were scheduled to close for the holidays). My friend said she was comfortable with Angie from the moment she met her. She also said she started getting relief after the first treatment. She is now one week post treatment (Dec 17th) and states she is almost back to "normal". She was told to take it easy for another week or so, so as not to undo the benefits from the treatments. She said she almost did undo the benefits when she felt so good that she cleaned house the day after her treatments were finished, she then decided it would behoove her to heed Angie's advice. |

I
was sent here by Dr.
Bonmatí for physical therapy on my knee. These gals are great and
really know their job. Angie was going to be a dentist until she had a
car accident, which caused her to go through physical therapy herself.
This changed her mind regarding her choice of profession, and she's
been a
licensed physical therapist for 5 years now. Angie does NOT speak English, but Mara knows a few words. I would highly recommend this place. |
